Victory Academy for Boys

More Than a Private School

Life at Victory Academy is more than just schoolwork. We believe the Christian life is the best life to live, and we go about to prove it. Our students learn as much outside of school as they do in class; we include the boys in a family, and involve them in a wide variety of activities, helping them to find fulfillment in hard work and good relationships.

The Weekly Schedule

Weekdays are mostly school and the evening schedule of homework, meal time, family worship and free time. Throughout the day there are chores to be done, and areas of responsibility that, when done well, result in privileges such as free time, games, and activities.

View the daily schedule

Every Friday night the boys can qualify for a special activity that provides a good, relaxing time to enjoy. That may be a movie night where we stay home and watch a good movie and make pizza, or maybe head into town for fast food and swimming at the YMCA.

Saturdays provide a little variety as we do work projects and help out in our community. The community service projects are sometimes tough, but rewarding when completed. We want give the boys an understanding that there is a certain satisfaction in doing a tough job well for someone who needs it, who can’t repay you in any way.

On Sundays we go to church. The boys are involved at Faith Baptist Church in Pembine, Wisconsin, where they can attend the youth group with other teens, help out in the children’s ministries, and help with work projects. After church a couple of college students organize activities for the afternoon. That often means a football or basketball game, a hike in the woods, or sledding.

A Family Model

Students engage in
		a healthy home life

Our program is based on a family model, meaning that there is a maximum of eight students in a home, with house parents leading the boys much as a mother and father would. The house parents organize boys’ activities and help them with various aspects of academy life. The last member of the family is a college-aged Resident Assistant, who lives with the guys and helps them through the details of the program and enjoys the activities and free time with them.

Additional Activities

Climbing to the top

Each boy has the opportunity to go camping, rock-climbing, backpacking, hunting, and fishing. He will also be able to enjoy mountain biking, canoeing, paintballing, and skiing. One highlight is the mission trip where the student gets to travel, usually to Mexico or Canada, and help a missionary with special projects. There are also various camps and retreats scheduled throughout the year.

A Place of Growth

Victory Academy is a place of growth, and growth can be hard. It’s not like going to camp. There are rules to follow and work to be done, but it is a place of fair and consistent discipline that helps a young man develop self-discipline, spiritual strength, and personal character; life skills that will reward him with the freedom to enjoy life to its fullest. Along the way he will have opportunities of a lifetime that will build his confidence and broaden his vision for life.

You had a great effect on our family…you helped restore relationships that had hurt and broken down our family.
