Pursuing Excellence

Our academy is set up to help unmotivated boys become motivated learners and to help motivated learners become self-learners. The school day is laid out with breaks and physical education classes to allow the boys activity and yet focus for their studies. Throughout the year there are field trips to places of interest and industry to pique the students’ interests in various life pursuits. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in a drama tour that presents serious spiritual truths to churches and schools throughout the Midwest.

With a one to four teacher/student ratio there is plenty of individual instruction and personal attention given to each student. Our teachers are certified by the state and hold degrees in education. Our core classes are traditionally taught, while the excelling student also has the opportunity to take higher-level classes through supervised computer-based instruction.

We have a great communication structure that provides for the teachers to team up with the house staff to hold the boys accountable for completion of their school work. The structure of the overall program aids the student in developing good study skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
